Brooklyn's Life - His Testimony

I grew up in an amazing family, and accepted Jesus into my heart when I was pretty young. My parents were the leaders of a kids club, so we were very involved in ministry. We had lots of kids in and out of our family, which I loved; but there were times that it was very hard on me. I would tell myself that compared to all the broken, hurting people I knew, I had no reason to feel any pain. But that's not how the enemy works! No matter how good our life may be, that doesn't keep Satan from attacking our mind and emotions.

I found myself believing lots of lies and making agreements with the enemy about who I was and what my value was. I internalized everything and became very shut down and afraid of/angry with people. But thank God, and thanks to my amazing mom, who never let me completely shut down but continually encouraged me to voice the things I was feeling and believing, and my husband, who is a wonderful listener and safe place and would point me to truth, I was able to start recognizing the lies I believed and agreements I made. I'm still on a journey of letting Jesus break down the strongholds I allowed the enemy to build in my heart; and breaking free of the lies and choosing to step into agreement with the truth Jesus speaks over me. I know I won't ever be perfect on this side of Heaven, but my desire is to continually become more like Jesus and to live life as free of fear and lies as possible!

​September 2018 I married my best friend and the love of my life, and October 2021 we had a little boy. I enjoy photography and design, being with my family, and making a good cup of coffee. I'm passionate about making others feel understood, loved and valued; and helping them find healing and freedom through Jesus.
